Black Clover is among the top-grossing shounen anime that took everyone by surprise when it came out and made us fall in love with it. It has been a long time since we got to hear anything new from the anime series, although the manga has been up and running again and is in its final saga.

While we were waiting for some info on the continuation of the series, Netflix dropped a bomb on us with the announcement of the movie. The movie is titled “Black Clover Sword of the Wizard King” and is set to release next year. In this article, I’ll be covering all the information related to the movie and then there will also be a section on the current condition of the anime sequel.
Black Clover Sword of the Wizard King – Where to watch, Release Date, and Plot
As I mentioned already that the movie is set to release next year and its official release date is set to be March 31, 2023. The official release of the movie will be made on the popular OTT platform known as Netflix. For now, it is going to be a Netflix exclusive which means that it will be available to stream on that platform only and we might have to wait for its other release. As for its theatre release, there has been no official news from the producers so it will stay as a Netflix exclusive until further official news is out.
The title seems to be a big hint at what we can expect from the Sword of the Wizard King movie, however, Black Clover is known for its surprises and it may not be what we think at all.
The sword in the title might be a reference to Asta as he has been fighting for the sake of his kingdom on behalf of the Wizard King in order to earn merit. The story might be based on the Wizard King and from what I could understand from the trailer it seemed to be a story of how the current Wizard King came to be.
There is also a possibility that the Sword might be referring to Julius when he was still just a captain of his squad and how he was taken as the Wizard King. The possibilities are many and until more official information comes out, not much can be said for certain related to its story.
