Hello folks, I am back with another list of anime suggestions. This time I bring you some of the best anime in the genre of Isekai. This genre has been getting a lot of attention and truth be told, I’m also a big fan of Isekai in general. But, let’s put that aside and get started.
Note: Before we begin, let me tell you that the list is not in any particular order and I have not assigned any ranks to it.

Best Isekai Anime to Watch
- Parallel World Pharmacy
In this anime, a genius pharmacist is set to save the lives of anyone he can using every bit of his genius and knowledge. However, due to overworking for a long period of time, he ultimately meets his demise and is reborn in another world in the family of pharmacists. However, the knowledge of that fantasy world is obsolete. He then sets out to share his knowledge to the world and save the lives of everyone with his genius and OP magic powers.
It may sound like a generic Isekai, but I assure you that the knowledge of medicines used in this anime is quite realistic and is based on modern science. To everyone’s surprise, there is no harem nor any supervillains to defeat. The major antagonists of this anime are diseases and some are even thought to be incurable. Anyways, I’m pretty sure that you will enjoy this Isekai so do give it a try as it is very different from most of the Isekai I have seen.
- Konosuba
If there was ever an Isekai that focussed on a bunch of misfits then Konosuba would definitely be the one. It is every bit funny as it can be and the characters are written very well for that role. Every episode will make you laugh hard and it can be a go-to anime for anyone who just wants to chill with a light story and funny characters. This all is within the settings of an Isekai and if you haven’t watched it yet then you should do so as early as possible.
- The world’s finest Assassin gets reincarnated in another world as an Aristocrat
In terms of its basic setting, it is similar to Konosuba in the way that in both the stories the MC dies and gets an opportunity to get reincarnated in another with their memories intact, by a Goddess. However, the striking difference is that it is not as light as Konosuba. This anime is set in a dark world of assassins and a fantasy world of magic where the task of the reborn assassin is to kill the hero in that world.

I loved this anime and its story. The characters were pretty good as well and you can feel the dark reality of the plot. It is among those recent anime series that I enjoyed watching and that is why I recommend this series to you. The opening is also good, so that’s a bonus for you.
- Mushoku Tensei Jobless Reincarnation
If I had to rank the anime then it’d have definitely been in the Top 3 if not the top. This is one of the best anime I’ve ever watched and I’m not referring to just Isekai. The basic setting is the same as any other in the way that the MC is reborn in a fantasy world of magic. However, apart from that, there is nothing that this anime does not offer. There is adventure, love, magic, monsters, demons, and so much more. On top of that, it offers some ecchi elements as well. The story turns dark real soon and the dark aesthetic is what made it such a joy to watch. Also, the character progression has been pretty smooth as well and it was not like gaining experience just by leveling up or defeating monsters. The MC had to study to progress.
Overall, it is a must-watch anime and is among the best Isekai ever. It is what I would like to call a trademark Isekai that might remain unmatched for a long time.
- My Isekai Life: I gained a second character class and became the strongest sage in the World
Despite its long name, this recent Isekai is quite appealing in its visuals and a laid-back OP character who doesn’t like to stand out. He always likes to work in a discreet manner and is on the list of anime characters who would go to any length for food. Yes, it is a really intriguing anime. I also liked the Japanese VA of the slimes that were traveling with him as his partner. Their voice was really cute and I found them adorable.
The story may not be great, but, the animation was quite good compared to some of the other anime of the same time. Also, the plot is straightforward and there are no complex elements that make it easier for us to understand. It may not be the best Isekai but it is surely worth watching as it is one of the few straightforward Isekai anime there are.
- That time I got reincarnated as a Slime
Slime anime have been quite popular lately due to the fact that slimes are supposed to be weak monsters in an RPG or fantasy setting. It might be the reason why it is so. But, it does not change the fact that this anime is good. The concept of having an OP slime, capable enough to be on par with the demon kings is cherry on top, for fantasy lovers.

This is a pure fantasy anime and contains almost every element that any good or popular anime should possess. If you want to witness the growth of this slime and are eager to see it in action then I’d recommend that you watch this anime and it is going to be worth your while.
- Rising of the Shield Hero
This is the story of the Shield Hero who is thought to be useless and comes across many betrayals before finally starting to develop. Its story is what I liked the best in the anime and it was so good that it even overshadowed the action sequence in the anime. The symbolism that was used was also pretty good with respect to beautiful storytelling. The timing for the introduction of new characters and the development of characters was spot on as well.
This is also among the very few Isekai that provide you with a good plot and can be relatable to the real world. To be honest, I might even get out of words if I start describing the anime in detail, so let’s keep it for another time and I suggest you watch the anime in the meantime.
- Arifureta Shokugyou de Sekai
A ruthless and kind protagonist, harem, adventures, dark plot, light comedy, what else is there that Arifureta does not have. It is a well-rounded package containing everything that you would enjoy in an anime. If you don’t trust me then all I can say is go and give it a try and comment down below if it was worth watching or not.
- Re: Zero
Re: Zero is the Isekai that is different from most of the anime on the list. The biggest difference out of them all is that the protagonist of the anime is the most relatable and has the most realistic growth. The story is good enough to engage you in the anime, but I was more engaged with the character development of the MC. It really opens our eyes to the reality that we can not do everything alone as the burden is too heavy for just one to bear.
The protagonist also possesses some rare magic element but that didn’t help him grow at all as he still remained weak, but only if I talk about physical strength or power and what did made him grow was the realization of the fact that he is weak and using that fact to strategize better. The protagonist and a couple of other characters were enough for me to fall in love with this masterpiece. Yes, I think that it is a masterpiece and you must watch it if you haven’t yet.

- Cautious Hero
This anime may not sound like the best Isekai and the protagonist was too cautious sometimes. But, you need to watch it through to the end and you’ll understand the reason for his actions. There are not many characters that get screen time apart from the Hero and the goddess who summons him. But, given the plot, the story progression and the finale were really well done. It might even get emotional as it reaches the end.
It has only 12 episodes so it can be binged easily. I urge you to give it a try as well as it is a fun anime which could get a little emotional towards the end.
