We all love to see great animation especially when it comes to our favourite anime and the characters. I am a big fan of great animation. The joy of watching an anime fight with great animation is like no other and is satisfactory on a whole new level. I am also sure that most anime fans love watching to see good action met with mind-blowing animation. However, for whatever reason, we sometimes forget those moments in the midst of life or simply never get to witness them in our busy lives and this is why I bring you some of the best anime action sequences that are mind-blowingly good. I don’t know if there is such a word but it surely is an expression of how excited I am sharing these with you and reliving those legendary animated battles. Let’s get started with…
Top Anime fights with the best animation
1. Saber Alter vs Berserker (Fate Stay Night Heaven’s Feel 2)
If you have watched this fight sequence then I am sure that it would have blown you away, just like me. This is one of my favourite movies and on top of that, the animation done by Ufotable was so good that it’s almost impossible for me to ever forget about it. Saber’s dark avatar and Berserker’s rampage was all there is to it if it weren’t for the amazing visuals and the appealing special effects that were incorporated into the action between those two. It was a well-executed action scene and deserves to be on the list of best-animated face-offs.

2. Saitama vs Boros (One Punch Man)
Almost every anime fan has watched One Punch Man, or at least, has heard of it. It was a groundbreaking anime that took us by surprise. Saitama was too strong for anyone and defeated almost everyone with just a single punch until Boros came and had him exert some of his energy and use more than a punch to defeat him. Even though the power gap between them was just too great, the fighting scenes were a blessing to watch and it was peak One Punch Man action. Let’s face it, we all want to see Saitama getting serious and even if it was not much we did get to see him getting a little serious. So, anyways this face-off is one of the most popular among anime fans and I am quite certain that you must want to watch it again.
3. Bell vs Minotaur (Danmachi Season 1)
This may not be the best animated fight scene out there but after watching it you will realize the quality that makes it one of the best fight scenes ever. A rookie adventurer shining while the odds were stacked against him and the intensity of the characters is what made me want to put this face-off on this list even when there were much better fights in the series. This face-off is a serious reminder that for an action sequence to be good animation isn’t always everything if the plot is good, though the animation isn’t half bad if we look at it. If you haven’t watched this fight or the anime then it is a must-watch, if you ask me. Do give it a try.
4. Ichigo vs Ulquiorra (Bleach)
The final fight between Ichigo and Ulquiorra was a classic. Ichigo flipping and turning into a complete hollow and going on a massacre after losing control and on the other hand, there was Ulquiorra who was trying to understand more about humans, as he showed one of the rare transformations in Bleach that is arguably one of the best transformations ever where he proved his superiority until the berserk Ichigo came out. It is one of the most memorable fights in Bleach ever. The contrasting ideologies and still the willingness to understand each other is what gave it depth and let’s not forget the awesome transformations that we got to witness. It is definitely among the best fights if not the best fight in Bleach anime history.
5. Gogeta vs Broly (Dragon Ball Super: Broly)
Dragon Ball has always been renowned for its action and this movie had taken that action to a whole new level as the Dragon Ball franchise progresses into the new gen animation and art style. Despite the fact that the power scaling has been haywire ever since the start of Dragon Ball Super the face-off between Gogeta and Broly was quite thrilling. They both were scaled so much that they were able to break through the space around them, and I’ll be honest, the one thing that grabbed my attention in the entire movie was this battle.

6. Rengoku vs Akaza (Demon Slayer Mugen Train)
In the list of top anime face-offs, there was no way I could have excluded the fight between the Hashira Rengoku and the Upper Moon 3 Akaza. From top-quality animation to highly intense face-off there is nothing that the fight did not have. In fact, it won’t be wrong to say that it was a benchmark quality that set a bar for the anime that are yet to come, to match. The disadvantageous yet determined Flame Hashira had moved everyone who watched the movie and made the anime a record breaker.
7. Naruto and Sasuke vs Momoshiki (Boruto: Naruto Next Generations)
The classic naruto fight scene where there is a lot of intense action matched with the similar intensity of classic Naruto music and great animation with fast-paced hand-to-hand combat to top it off. I am sure it summed up the action quite a bit. We were really glad to see Naruto and Sasuke finally getting back into action and showing the Ohtsutsuki who the real boss is. The duo is godly and this battle between the gods has just showcased the godly might that they still had. The OG Naruto fans loved the action and I don’t think they will ever be able to forget it.
8. Mob vs Koyama (Mob Psycho 100)
Mob is also an overpowered esper, but, unlike Saitama, he has a meter that breaks down after reaching 100% and that is when the real action starts. What I liked about this fight was that it was not an easy win for Mob in his normal state, unlike Saitama who barely gets hurt even while confronting the most fierce enemies. Mob gets thrashed up until the point where he fell to the ground and if it weren’t for protecting his brother he may not have reached the threshold and this would have been an L for Mob. However, that was not the case as he decimated Koyama as soon as he went 100% rage mode. It also shows the character that Mob possessed which is unlike many MCs in mainstream anime. It was a real joy to watch and I am certain that the feeling is mutual.

9. Ash vs Alain (Pokemon XYZ)
The best pokemon series so far and this battle was probably the best ever in the entire Pokemon history. You might not be a fan of Pokemon anime but if you ever feel like checking out the series then I would suggest that you watch the series. It was not just the animation that made it great but the exhilarating music and a well-built plot contributed to its greatness. Also, how can I forget the iconic Ash-Greninja which battled it out with Mega Charizard X to decide the champion of Kalos. Ash did end up losing but this remained as the historic pokemon battle that is yet to find its match in the series.
10. Saitama vs Genos (One Punch Man)
Even though this was only a sparring match and Saitama had no reason to get serious, he did do so in a gentle way so as to not destroy Genos. The fact that I am mentioning a spar just shows how good the animation for One Punch Man was. The little practice match was better animated than many of the anime fights that we know. It was also a good addition to the bond that was developing between Saitama and Genos. It may not be a major face-off but I still believe that it deserved to be on the list.
Final Words
When it comes to action, I can make compromises with the plot if the fight scenes are good to watch. However, a good plot on top of already good action is just a gem to witness and there are a lot of anime that do deliver both of these. There are a lot more encounters that you might not have seen and I will try and bring them to your notice so that everyone can enjoy those hidden gems. If you liked the post then do share your thoughts in the comment section. I’ll see you all later and till then, Peace!!
