Top 10 Underrated Anime | 10 Great Offbeat Anime that you may never have heard of (But you’ll really like)

Top Underrated Anime

Underrated Anime have been trending a lot as they are not known by many but are really good. You must have seen a lot of great anime series like Naruto, Bleach, Attack on Titan, My Hero Academia, Black clover and so many more…but there are a lot of great off-beat underrated anime as well that you may have not heard of. I am going to list out a few of the ones I really liked.

NOTE:  The list is not in any particular order and is just based on my personal opinion and preferences. So, let’s get started with

Top 10 Underrated Anime that you need to watch

 1.  Great Teacher Onizuka (GTO)

It follows the story of an ex-gang leader who dreams of becoming a great teacher. He starts with a class of troublemakers and as the story follows you’ll see how he transforms the lives of his students. It beautifully expresses a relationship between a student and teacher with a lot of comedy elements attached to it. It has a lot of content that we can easily relate to or imagine. Overall, it’s a great anime and I am sure you won’t regret watching it.

 2.  Classroom of the elite

A High School made to nurture the future leaders of the country, funded by the government. Even though it is filled with elite students, there’s still a hierarchy that is based on the entrance test. The best scorers are sent to Class-A and the low scorers (among the elites) are sent to Class D. The MC carries a lot of mystery, but there are many other characters who are quite mysterious and we can not tell until their mystery is revealed. It’s filled with high school politics and action. Watch…as the Class D tries to rank up to Class-A.
I really wish that it gets a sequel. But you can surely give it a try.

 3.  No game No life

Genius gamer siblings who are known to be unbeatable and even called an urban legends are, one day transported to a world having multiple races. In this world, everything is resolved through games. There is a God claiming to be the ‘God of Games’ and the unbeatable siblings take on the challenge of beating the God.
Another world, Genius gamers, Multiple races, God of games….trust me, it’s much more interesting than it sounds.

 4.  Golden boy

In a span of total of 6 episodes, you will witness learning, harem, action, a lot of comedy, and a guy on a road trip to learning who is an active part of all those things that are mentioned. Each episode features a main female character in each episode and the MC inspires all of them in some way.
It’s not a lot of episodes so I guess you can just watch and you may see why it has a high rating.

 5.  School babysitters

This is a slice-of-life anime featuring orphan siblings who are taken in and raised by a strict-looking principal. There’s not much to tell about it except that it has a little bit of drama, a little bit of romance, and a lot of wholesome episodes which will make you feel emotional.
You can certainly give it a try if you want a break from shonen and just want to chill.

 6.  Danmachi

One of the best action-adventure anime I’ve ever seen. It starts with the same old concept of a weak character who wants to get stronger. But what got me really hooked was the story progression, character development, constant and intense action, great animation, and some difficult moral choices which we can imagine or relate, to the real world. Danmachi is a complete package, that’s all I can say.

 7.  Future diary

Do you love mystery or romance? Well, you don’t need to worry since it has both mystery and romance. It begins when the daily journal of the MC gets converted into a future diary through which he can tell what’s going to happen in the future. The real action starts when he learns that there are other characters who have the same sort of power and they all are competing to become the new God and replace Deus ex machina. The thing about romance is that you won’t realize that it’s a romance until you watch it till the end, so you can say that the romance is a mystery in this too. The storyline is crazy and will surely keep you on your toes.

 8.  Dorohedoro

There are Magic users, being from another dimension, that is constantly attacking people and experimenting on them. This all changes when a guy starts attacking them. He lost his identity and memories in these experiments and now he’s fighting to get them all back. The plot is really simple, but the action and execution of the story and its characters are what make this an exciting anime.

 9.  Akame ga kill

A band of people gathered to fight for a common cause, that is, a revolution against the exploitation of the masses by those who have the power. They have united to exterminate the root cause of the chaos in the kingdom. There are righteous characters, and crazy characters and there are some who are righteous but too much crazy…like brainwashed crazy. Each character has his/her backstory which can make you feel the reason for which they are fighting. It’s a great anime with a lot of thrilling and exciting action and tragedies. You won’t regret watching this.

10.  Another

Another is based on a dark theme and falls into the horror and mystery genre. It features the story of tragedies in a school, a mysterious student, and a student trying to unravel the mysteries of those tragedies.
I recommend this anime to everyone who liked death note. I’m sure you’ll like this too.
